AK VVilla 53, was given its name to describe the luxury vacation experience you will enjoy while visiting this villa. Rest in the sun or the shade – upstairs or down, and enjoy the tranquility of the Sea. Or when you’re in the mood, walk a few minutes south to Akumal Bay or north to Half Moon Bay to enjoy the beach, restaurants, shopping, snorkeling and dive shops.
The entry into AK Villa 53 is a long driveway into a jungle paradise which takes you to the villa and the Caribbean Sea. The villa cannot be seen at all from the road...a luxury that provides privacy and enchantment. AK Villa 53 is a charming Santa Fe style home with Tommy Bahama furnishings, original paintings and oriental rugs.
All rooms - upstairs and down - enjoy an ocean view and air conditioning The downstairs includes a large living room with cozy, comfortable and elegant furniture. After a day of sunshine you can look forward to watching television or a good movie while someone else curls up with a good book. There are many couches, chairs, ceiling fans, a bar and a credenza filled with games. There are also dining tables pool side and garden side so you have many choices depending on your mood. Steaks on the grill, a Mexican meal prepared by the cook, or a picnic by the swimming pool – just make sure you have an icy cold drink in hand!
All three bedrooms in the main house are the same size and have large dressing rooms and beautiful bathrooms. The bedroom downstairs has a King-size bed and is called the “Oriental Room” because of the red silk furnishings and antique bronze Buddhas from Japan. The two upstairs bedrooms both have stunning illuminated brick domed ceilings and are separated by a large private outdoor balcony which is terrific for shade or sun – lying in a hammock or getting an all over tan. One bedroom is called “Las Pinas” which is the “Pineapples” because of it’s dark Tommy Bahama Rattan and Wicker King-size bed and furnishings decorated with pineapple fabrics and a pineapple trimmed rug. This room is also adorned with reproductions of fascinating Mayan artifacts and an original Bill Guynes portrait of a Mayan woman. The second bedroom upstairs is called “Las Cocas” and has two twin beds with white wicker furniture, oriental rugs, coconut palm fabrics and lamps as well as original paintings by Gayle Walker.
The views from AK Villa 53 are gorgeous – the elegant and unusual half-moon swimming pool with a backdrop of coral reef, water geysers shooting up into the air and boats sailing by in the ocean. A panoramic view of the aquamarine Caribbean Sea.
An air conditioned guest house is available at extra cost. It is located as a second floor over the garage with a private view of the surrounding gardens and birds. This room is called the “Jungle Room” because of the views and furnishings which include lots of wicker furniture and monkey fabrics! It has a King-size bed, sitting area with TV and movies, kitchen and bathroom.
AK Villa 53 is comfortable, beautiful and private – the perfect vacation villa. “Nidia” is there to make you continental breakfasts and also provides manicures and pedicures – at a reasonable cost.
